Imago Clinical Training Program

In Eastern Canada (Maritimes and Quebec - now offered by Pierrette Richard (Canada), and in UK by Ian Tomlinson and Kalanit Ben-Ari, UK. Imago training is offered around the world by experienced Imago faculty members. www.imagocertificationandtraining.com.

This training in couple therapy for psychotherapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, marriage and  family therapists will transform your work with your couple clients, help you to help them work through their conflicts and connect more deeply and safely with each other.

Imago Relationship Therapy is grounded in solid theoretical premises that make sense to therapist and client alike. It offers you, as a therapist, specific tools and a methodology you can use to facilitate your clients as they work through the conflictual issues that are bound to come up in intimate relationships, in ways that help them move from conflict to connection, growth and healing. Imago offers relationship effectiveness and skills training to couples as well as a therapeutic experience to explore childhood roots of current challenges. The clinical training program will guide you, the therapist, in finding your own style in working with Imago theory and practice that is effective for you with their clients

The training is now being offered in Quebec and the Maritimes by Pierrette Richard  pierrette.richard@cpamoncton.ca ; info@amourimagolove.ca ; www.amourimagolove.ca

Clinical Training Program in Imago Relationship Therapy - Full Training to certification - OPQ accredited for  continuing education credits.

Imago Relationship Therapy is a research-supported, systematic theory of relationship therapy developed by Harville Hendrix, Ph.D., author of Getting the Love you Want: a Guide for Couples, and Helen LaKelly Hunt, Ph.D. Imago theory powerfully synthesizes major aspects of depth psychology, object relations, systems theory and humanistic-existential theory into a comprehensive approach to working with relationships.

What you can expect from the training

  • A deep theoretical understanding of couple relationships which serves as a map to guide your interventions - why we pick the partners we do, why we have the conflicts we have, and what to do to move into the joy that is our essence. Imago is grounded in the science of interconnectedness and relationality rather than the psychology of the self.
  • Practice in developing skill in facilitating couples, holding them gently and firmly in new ways of connecting through the Imago dialogue processes, deepening their empathic connection, and empowering them to heal their relationship.
  • A personal growth experience that will quite possibly impact your own personal and professional relationships, your way of working with all your clients and your way of being in the world.
  • A sense that couple therapy can be fun, joyful, and enlivening for you and your clients.

Clinical Track open to psychotherapists, psychologists, couple and family therapists

Educator Track open to those who work with couples in other modalities, e.g. relationship coaching, thérapeutes en relation d'aide.

Testimonials

“This was a very amazing training and I feel I have grown enormously both professionally and in my personal relationship.”

“Sophie is truly an exceptional instructor. I had so many “aha” moments both on a personal and professional level, that I’d highly recommend the training to anyone.”

Sabrina Weyeneth

“It is so valuable and exciting to see Sophie working the seamless flow and be gifted by receiving her feedback."

Andrea Schaal.

"Not only does Sophie come across as very intelligent and competent but also as a warm, loving and safe guide”

Andrea Schaal

For me, Sophie's presentation was explicit, though it is easy to assimilate the knowledge needed to learn Imago's processes. Her teaching is clear, full of warmth, firmness and patience. Sophie is a great guide, creating an ambiance of confidence and openness. The support and guidance provided during the training and supervision sessions were very useful. Each supervision session was an extraordinary personal process and a professional opportunity to assimilate the Imago.  DG, Romania
