Training group in South Africa

I offer a range of wonderful advanced trainings for Imago therapists, educators and facilitators. Some are open to others who have not yet trained in Imago. For more information and to schedule a training in your area contact slade.imago@icloud.com.

These courses are generally offered over 3 days in person, or 24 hours on-line including some self-study, but some can be adapted to shorter or longer presentations. Price is usually US$600 or equivalent per course.

Advanced Trainings count towards Advanced Clinician status for Certified Imago Therapists.  Imago Facilitators and Educators are always welcome to participate in all trainings.

Sexuality, Sensuality and Imago

Make informed choices regarding when to work with a couple and when to refer around sexual challenges. Develop comfort in addressing sexual issues.  Understand the dynamics of sexual challenges in terms of Imago theory and practice so you can help your couples connect intimately, physically, sexually as well as relationally.

 

The Relational Self / Working with Individuals in the Imago Paradigm 

The Relational Self/Working with individuals in the Imago Paradigm (a required course for Imago Facilitator certification) will give Imago practitioners ways to apply the knowledge, tools and skills of the presence, connection and the relational paradigm to their work with individual clients, integrate the Missing Self work from "Keeping the Love You Find", expand their repertoire of Dialogues and  have various models of working with individual clients.   Developed and led with Wendy Patterson.

From Despair to Repair

So many of our couples come to us in a state of crisis and despair. The core of Imago work is to help couples to repair the ruptures and move back into the experience of of connecting.

We focus on three elements of repair that are impacted by a crisis:

1) the ‘between’ of the relationship – the interpersonal

2) using relational neuroscience as a map for inner attunement

3) helping the therapist with his/her own counter-transference and use of “self.”

Healing from affairs and other catastrophic exits will be included. Experiential and didactic learning.

The Journey of Change

Nine essential shifts couples need to make in their ways of being with each other to create the relationship they want to have.  Theory, demonstrations and practice in helping clients make each of the shifts. Developed with Maya Kollman.

Giving and Receiving Love

Why is it so hard to give the love your partner wants from you?  Why is it even hard at times to receive the love that your partner gives you? We look at the many reasons underlying these relationship challenges and how to help couples move beyond them.

Imago Therapy through the Developmental Lens
